How Bidlane works

Edit tender documents — permanently free.

Bidlane is a browser-based editor for GAEB and bill-of-quantities files. Upload, edit, export — no install, no sign-up, no hidden fees.

Always free · no hidden fees
Why Bidlane exists

We come from the trades ourselves. Day after day, GAEB files, BoQ spreadsheets and PDFs landed in our inbox — and every time the same question: which tool to open them with, which to price them in, which to send back?

The established GAEB programs are powerful, but expensive. If you just need to review a few items or return a file cleanly, you end up paying monthly licenses or hopping from one trial to the next. We spent weekends wiring together converters just to get an X83 into Excel.

At some point we'd had enough. We wanted a tool we'd actually use ourselves every day: fast, clean, in the browser, with no setup — and permanently free. That's how Bidlane was born.

We keep improving it step by step. Instead of license fees we fund ourselves through restrained, high-quality ads from partners in the construction space. You get the tool without paying — and we can keep our promise that the core features stay free, forever.

Three steps to a finished file

1 · Upload your file

Drop your GAEB file (X81 to X86, D81, P81), an Excel BoQ, a PDF, CSV or XML straight into the browser. Bidlane detects the format and reads the structure, items, quantities and prices.

2 · Edit in the editor

Adjust items, change quantities, set unit prices, rewrite descriptions, reorder groups. A clean, modern interface instead of menus from the 90s.

3 · Export & send

One click and you're back in the format you need — GAEB, Excel, PDF or CSV. Download directly from the browser and return it to the client, subcontractor or architect.

What Bidlane stands for

Always free

No trial, no paywall, no hidden limits on the core features. Today, tomorrow, and in five years.

Local & data-light

Files are processed inside your browser. No accounts, no tracking obligations, GDPR-friendly.

From the trades, for the trades

Built by people who review tenders themselves — not by software giants who only know it from a whiteboard.

Why we show ads — and how

To keep Bidlane free forever, we fund ourselves through carefully selected advertising. No flashing banners, no shady trackers — just relevant offers from manufacturers, wholesalers and software partners in the construction industry.

We believe good advertising is a fair trade. You get a professional tool without an invoice, our partners reach the right audience, and nobody has to cancel a license because a project is on pause.

Fairly funded. Free forever.
